Mission
The Butler Public Library upholds the objectives of the
ALA standards for information literacy in the 21st
century. The library will provide and maintain
materials and access to information that will assist the
individuals' needs for obtaining information without
discrimination. The Library will serve as a public
space where the informational needs of the individuals
are continually addressed and met in an ongoing
commitment with the public to connect them to our
services: promoting informational, educational,
cultural, civic and recreational needs of the community.
Our mission at the Butler Public Library since our founding over
80 years ago has been to service the community and provide free and easy access to a rich and diverse range of books, periodicals, audio and video media, and research materials.

The Library Board meets at 7pm on the first Thursday of every month. The Board, in conjunction with the Library Director, makes and oversees Library policies, sets and monitors the budget and determines the direction our Library will take in the future.
We invite you to attend the meetings and participate in creating the best possible community Library for ourselves and our children.
